The Children's Hospital at Westmead has a reputation for excellence in paediatric care. We’re a 340-bed specialty hospital and a tertiary referral hospital with around 26,000 admissions per year from New South Wales, Noumea, New Caledonia and other pacific islands. Our diverse team of highly experienced individuals delivers patient care and support that’s second to none.
Vision
Our vision is better health for children and excellence in child health care. Our mission is to constantly challenge the boundaries in paediatrics and child health by leading change and striving for excellence in clinical care, research, teaching and advocacy.
Family Services
Our family services include a children's library, parent/carer accommodation and clown doctors. Our Starlight Room and Bedrock provide interactive entertainment. We also have gardens, an aviary, a patient sibling child minding service, a chaplaincy service, quiet rooms and much more.
Location
We're minutes from Parramatta City and 35 minutes by train from Sydney city. Public transport is comprehensive.
Facilities & Benefits
We provide extensive staff services and facilities. Our on-site child care centre for staff accommodates 40 children and we have information on Childcare services in Sydney and the local area. On-site vacation care for children runs during school holidays.
We provide salary packaging and salary sacrifice plus staff vaccinations and counselling support. We have security protected locker rooms, a swimming pool, a cafeteria and dining and lounge areas for the exclusive use of staff.
Our education facilities include lecture theatres, a medical library and audiovisual and videoconferencing resources. Hospital retail facilities include Starbucks Coffee Shop, a pharmacy (including photo processing and dry cleaning) and a licensed restaurant.
